There are many, many good restaurants on Martha’s Vineyard but you won’t find a fast food establishment anywhere… not that the biggest of them hasn’t tried though. Back in the late 1970′s McDonald’s tried and failed.
A No Mac committee was formed which included Carly Simon, James Taylor, Mia Farrow authors John Updike and William Styron and other Vineyarders. They fought against the conglomerate and it worked and McDonald’s gave up saying they didn’t need the aggravation.
Don’t expect Starbucks but do experience the Beetlebung Coffee House and Mocha Motts. Don’t expect Subway but enjoy Espresso Love and Among The Flowers.
From top to bottom: Newes From America - Alley’s General Store – Katama General Store - AmongThe Flowers - The Black Dog - Espresso Love.
From Atria in Edgartown to Zephrus in Vineyard Haven the food on Martha’s Vineyard is eclectic and delicious… but not so fast.

Amen to that. I miss the vineyard so much this year!!! We are definitely going to spend atleast a long weekend there this summer, enough is enough! One of my favorite breakfast spots is the diner across the parking lot form Espresso Love. Their Vermont omelet is my favorite, and my husband loves their old fashioned decor.

We spent Thanksgiving week in Edgartown and found wonderful foods at Morning Glory Farms ( a short ride in lovely fall countryside)–homemade breads, pies, quiche, –wonderful and beautiful veggies from their gardens, complementary hot cider and on and on! Plus this was fun as an outing!
Also loved eating with our family at a the Wharf Restaurant in Edgartown..really easy for families, friendly servers and something for everyone. An easy walk from our Cooke St. base.
The kids liked to walk to the Dock Street Coffee Shop to get Hot Chocolate to take out, cross the street and watch the Chappaquidick ferry for a while and then on to the Library, which is very accommodating to children.
You can see, I have some wonderful memories of this trip!
