My mother did these two counted cross stitches over 80 years ago.
Gay Head Lighthouse still had the lightkeepers house attached to it.
Only 4 lighthouses instead of 5 on the Vineyard map – do you know which one is missing?
My counted cross stitch of Gay Head lighthouse done in 2004.
Vineyard map done in 1993… my first of 11.

Joanie: They are all beautiful but I especially love the Gay Head Light with the keeper’s house. I did a copy of the picture and am going to try (because my talents with the computer are limited) to send it to Claire Bettencourt, my girlfriend who now lives in New York state, and it will be special for her to see because she lived there as a young child and I KNOW she has never seen this before in cross-stitch. I’ll let you know if it works. Thank you so much.

Joan –
Beautiful artwork! Your love for the Vineyard is clearly reflected in your blogs, pictures, and trivia…Love it! Keep ‘em coming!
BTW, I do believe that the missing lighthouse in your map is the Edgartown Lighthouse.
Best,
Kevin

I love that lighthouse. Vineyard must be extremely beautiful. Maybe ten or twenty years ago, I saw some series from it in our TV.
Happy week-end!

Really cool! P.S. — what Kevin said. The missing lighthouse is Edgartown.
