I am a Vineyard-a-holic. I’ve been going to MV since I was 2 years old. I love to be there and when I’m not there I think about it all the time.
This blog is about my love of Martha’s Vineyard. I write about news and happenings on the Vineyard, I include personal stories, and from time to time throw in a little Vineyard history.
I live in NJ with my family. I like photography, counted cross stitching, movies and reading.
Any questions about MV are welcome.

I live in NJ but my heart and soul live on Martha’s Vineyard. I have loved the Island since I began going there as a child. I am a Vineyard-a-holic.
I am married with two grown daughters… I also have a granddaughter and a grandson. They all have inherited my love of MV.
I love photography, reading, counted cross stitching and writing.

Hi Joan,
Thanks so much for your kind words abotu my blog. Martha’s Vineyard is quite a place, isn’t it! Ever since I moved here I have felt compelled to write about the interesting things I have seen so that I will always remember what it was like to see the island with fresh eyes.
And now I have your blog to look forward to reading, too! Super memories, and photos!

Hi Joan, One of my dreams would be to visit Martha’s Vineyard. Someday! I can see why you love it so and I guess for now I will visit vicariously through your blog!
Thanks so much (and thanks for the sweet words about my blog, you made my day!).

You should consider adding a link for Martha’s Vineyard Magazine. I live in Connecticut, but visit the Vineyard regularly throughout the year, and subscribe to both the Gazette and MV Magazine. The magazine does a great job of providing interesting, in-depth stuff about the island that I often didn’t know before, and the photography of course is awesome.

Hi Joan,
I’m Jenny, we met at Susan’s sheep shearing in April, I sat to your right at lunch. I have a question for you. I remember we were talking about acupuncture, and you mentioned that you found it really worked for you. I decided, upon your suggestion and also Adele’s, to try it. I’ve been 4 times and haven’t noticed this really dramatic difference, though I am very slowly getting better. I’m not sure if the acupuncture has anything to do with that, I was slowly improving before I went, but it might. From what my acupuncturist said it seemed as though I’d be noticing a much more dramatic improvement, however I just remembered that you had said it wasn’t a quick fix. I’d really love it if you could tell me a little about your experience, I’m trying to determine whether I should keep paying for it (I’m going twice a week at $65 per appointment, it adds up! More than worth it if it helps me, of course) or if perhaps it’s just not working for me and I should stop.
Please email me at jclemensfox@gmail.com, if you get a chance.
Thank you!!
Jenny

There is no more special place than the Vineyard! May I plug my showing of paintings of Chilmark? At the Carol Craven Gallery, July 27 to Aug. 8. The only drawback to visiting MV is the withdrawal symptoms. peace, C.Snedeker

Wow, I think you and I were destined to meet. Thanks for stopping by my blog. I notice we started writing the same month too. I absolutely love the Vineyard. My daughter has worked there and commuted from Falmouth for almost 8 years. I love your header too. I volunteered at a concert this past August that was held in that field.
I’m going to add you to my blogroll so I don’t forget to visit you. My memory is terrible.
And to top it all off we are both Joans. I’ll be back

There’s a pond in the park pictured above. When I was 3 years old, possibly my first memory, I ‘lost’ a little wooden boat that I sailed in this pond which to me was as big as the nearby sea.

I came across your website and was thrilled. I live in PA with my husband and our four Pomeranians. We go to the Vineyard every August. The day we leave to come home, I am usually very sad. I then start the next countdown. I really want a house on the island someday…

My Grandfather was a Fireman in Vineyard Haven, June 8, 1935, as his license states. Ossian Axel Sten and wife Aino Marie Asiala, and their son Kenneth, (my father) lived in Vineyard Haven on the Lagoon. Both Ossian and Aino were born in Finland, met in Brooklyn, New York and married in October 1919. I am working on our family history, and would love to obtain more information about him living on the Vineyard. I, too, spent many summers vacationing on Martha’s Vineyard… Vineyard how I love you!
